BURNISHING.

STATIC OR BARREL TREATMENTS WITH OILING OR A DRY

This treatment is a black surface oxidation, used on ferrous metals with the sole exception of stainless steels. The color and finish depend on the type of salts and the preparation of the piece.

Burnishing is not a coating therefore it does not cover defects. As a result, if the item is scratched it will remain so even after the treatment. To obtain uniform burnishing, it is advisable to first sandblast the items.
To maintain it over time, the item must be oiled and stored in a dry place protected from atmospheric agents.

Our burnishing complies with DIN 50938 and MIL-C-13924.

Technical note

In order to maintain the characteristics of the items subjected to burnishing and lubricated phosphating over time.

It is very important that the customer provide the technical characteristics required by the product; in the event the product itself must be subjected to quality standards or certifications, this information should be communicated in advance.
Anelotti Oreste S.r.l. supplies the treated items with an adequate protection consisting of special lubricants. For maximum performance, this protection must be maintained for as long as possible and, should further processing become necessary, the items must first be treated with high quality protective oil that meets specific standards.
Finally, it is good practice to take care of the items treated, preventing them from coming into contact with water, being stored in damp places, or exposed to excessive dust.
