PHOSPHATING.
This treatment consists of a superficial deposit of zinc, zinc-iron, zinc-calcium or zinc-manganese phosphates. It is used on iron and ferrous alloys to improve their resistance to corrosion and to favor the adhesion of the subsequent painting.
The color and finish depend on the type of phosphates and the preparation of the piece.
For example: a black finish is achieved using manganese phosphates, while a lighter color is achieved with zinc – calcium or zinc – iron phosphates.
To obtain a homogeneous and compact phosphating treatment, it is advisable to sandblast the surfaces to be treated. To maintain the phosphating treatment over time, the pieces must be oiled and stored in a dry place away from atmospheric agents.
Our phosphating treatment complies with ISO 9717.
